Deputy prime minister decorates Hungarians from beyond borders
Budapest, August 19 (MTI) – Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén handed over awards to representatives of Hungarian communities in other countries on Friday, ahead of Hungary’s August 20 national holiday.
The For Hungarians Beyond Borders award is given in recognition of “magnificent people”, but it is also to express appreciation for ethnic Hungarian communities as well as the government’s commitments to support ethnic kin, Semjén said in his address.
Ethnic Hungarians are a constituent part of the nation, he said, and pledged that “we will never let go of our ill-fated fellow-Hungarians”.
