Dwindling coronavirus numbers: here are the latest statistics – March 23, 2022
Altogether 42 patients died of a Covid-related illness in the past 24 hours, while 2,845 new coronavirus infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Wednesday.
So far 6,400,731 people have received a first jab, while 6,183,761 have been double-jabbed. Fully 3,835,618 Hungarians have received a booster third shot and 244,052 a fourth shot.
The number of active infections has gone down to 102,764, while hospitals are treating 2,006 Covid-19 patients, 77 of whom are intubated on a ventilator.
Since the first outbreak, 1,834,268 have been registered with the virus, while 45,185 deaths have been recorded. Fully 1,686,319 people have made a recovery.
Hungary is in the fifth wave of the epidemic’s descent, which is why the government has lifted the epidemiological restrictions and the obligation to wear a mask. Registration and appointment booking are open for vaccination, and there will be another vaccination campaign from Thursday to Saturday.
