EP elections – LMP demands list of endangered species in Hungary from government
The green opposition LMP has asked the innovation and technology ministry for a list showing how many endangered species are living in Hungary, Gábor Vágó, who leads the party list at the European Parliament elections, said on Saturday.
Vágó said the latest United Nations report shows that more than one million species are on the verge of extinction out of the 6 million ones known on Earth.
LMP will work in the EP towards preserving the natural habitat of animals living in Hungary and towards preventing global climate change from becoming irreversible, Vágó said.
Europe should provide an example for the international community by developing an economy that focuses on humans and nature instead of the profit of multinational companies, he said.
