Ethnic Hungarian ethnographer Kallós 90th birthday held in the Hungarian opera of Kolozsvár
Kolozsvár, Romania, April 23 (MTI) – Prime Minister Viktor Orbán congratulated the musicologist-ethnographer Zoltán Kallós on his 90th birthday at a ceremony organised by the Hungarian opera in Kolozsvár (Cluj), Romania, on Saturday evening.
Orbán said there is “still more vim in Kallós than in many of us”, adding that he provides “a measure and role model to live by day-by-day.”
Addressing the gala event Orbán cited an example from history when the elder militiamen fighting under the Hungarian flag in the brigades of Bem in the 1848/49 wars of independence were treated with great respect as “fighters for the true cause”.
“It is under this flag that we, too, serve. Our work, mission and goal is the same. To give our lives to serving something bigger than us, to some greater cause. Our shared mission is to serve our country, Hungary,” the prime minister said.
