EU R+D+I programme funds Hungarian research with EUR 276 m
Hungarian companies, universities and research institutes have received some 90 billion forints (EUR 276m) so far from the European Union’s research and innovation programme dubbed Horizon 2020, business weekly Világgazdaság said on Monday.
The programme has funded 1,076 Hungarian projects. Among others, Horizon 2020 awarded 58.6 million euros for tenders within the framework of the European Research Council, 26.9 million for work in information and communication technology, and 22.5 million for research in the sectors of food safety, sustainable argiculture and forestry, Világgazdaság said.
Of the funds, some 90 million euros went to companies, 76.7 million to research institutes, 73.1 million to institutes of secondary and tertiary education and 13.4 million to public institutions, the paper said.
