Fidesz: We won the summer, we will win the election
Hungary’s ruling parties “have won the summer and will win the election”, János Lázár, the minister of construction and transport, said at the Tranzit festival in Tihany, on Lake Balaton, on Friday.
“The summer has shown that it’s worth going back out onto the streets, because that’s where Fidesz was born,” Lázár said at a forum. “We can’t hand that over to our opponent, but we must also be in control in the digital space.”
He said the tone of political discussions was “totally different” online than in person, adding that even most opposition voters had been respectful at his forums because he had listened to them.
Lázár said both pro-government and opposition voters wanted the government to “solve not just the big issues, but even their small personal ones”. “We have to try to help everyone because we’re all Hungarians,” the minister said.
In response to a question, Lázár said he had no ambitions to be prime minister, “and the seat in Fidesz is occupied”.
He said Fidesz’s opponents “follow a communist, liberal, woke policy” that would lead to higher taxes, rising energy prices, the welcoming of migrants, and a different family policy and family model. “Our path is a conservative one,” he said, adding that Fidesz’s time in government brought experience, stability and predictability. “On the other side there’s only chaos, uncertainty and risk,” he added.

“They won the summer!” Huh? What does that mean? Did they “win the street” with hundreds of thousands of Fidesz supporters asking to robbed some more by the Fidesz thieves? Lazar and the rest of them are one-dimensional caricatures who are empty suits spouting mindless slogans. The opposition are all “woke communists”. Are Hungarians that stupid to believe this drivel? I think they were but every month that goes by fewer and fewer of them believe it and start to understand that they have been treated as fools by their government.
