Film stars flood Budapest: Dune is shooting

Many filmmakers choose Budapest as a place to shoot their movie in, understandably. The crew of the film Dune decided no differently. After the six Oscar-winning first part, Denis Villeneuve returns to the Hungarian capital with his illustrious crew to make the second part of the piece.

The first part of the latest adaptation of the world dreamed up by Frank Herbert was a worldwide hit in 2021, reports hirado.hu. Director Denis Villeneuve’s plan was to split the first book of the novel series into two parts. The second part of Dune is scheduled to be released in October 2023, and filming has just started in Budapest.
With the start of filming on Dune, Warner Bros. Pictures has finally unveiled the official synopsis for the highly anticipated sci-fi film. The film, starring Timothée Chalamet as the main character, will be shot in Budapest, Abu Dhabi, Jordan and Italy.

“The second part will explore the mythical journey of Paul Atreides as he joins forces with Chani and the Fremen to take revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. He must choose between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe as he strives to prevent a terrible future that only he can foresee” reads the synopsis.
