Fly to the astonishing Barcelona, Mallorca, Montenegro from Budapest this summer!
Feel like travelling from Budapest this summer? You’ve come to the right place. Anticipated growth in organised outbound tourism within Hungary is poised to persist throughout this year. Pre-booking statistics surpass last year’s figures, signalling a promising season with positive outcomes. Here is everything you need to know about organised travel from Budapest.
Travelling from Budapest
As Turizmus.com writes, almost all travel agencies have expanded their travel destination offers for this summer, in response to the steady growth in demand. This summer, charter flights are now available to the beaches of Barcelona, Mallorca, and the resorts of Montenegro, among others.
As expected based on the experience of the previous years, Turkey is still in the spotlight. However, the offer is quite strong when it comes to Greece, Egypt or Spain too. The price of these packages went up slightly due to inflation. Let’s take a closer look at each travel agency’s offer.
IBUSZ
After a 37% turnover growth in 2023, IBUSZ expects further expansion in 2024, despite initial doubts. Pre-booking inventory is up 29% from last year, with increased capacity. They will operate nineteen weekly charters with Smartwings Hungary and offer packages to Malaga, Athens, and Corfu from Debrecen with Wizz Air. In 2024, reservations exceed last year’s, with half of their capacity allocated to Greece, 35% to Turkey, and 15% to Spain.
The agency’s Greek offerings remain steady with Crete, Kefalonia, Zakynthos and Rhodes. Corfu, Lefkada, Parga, Tolo, and Karpathos are new additions to the agency’s offers. For the Turkish Riviera, they launch five weekly flights, with nearly two hundred hotels available. They introduce 10-11 day tours and add Kemer as a new destination. Their new offerings include two Spanish charters, allowing travellers to reach two resort areas in Barcelona and Mallorca.
Kartago Tours
There are four flights a week from Budapest to Antalya on the Turkish Riviera, and a weekly flight from Debrecen, while Kuşadası is a new addition to their destinations. They also have a strong offer in Tunisia, with two weekly flights from Budapest, one from Debrecen to Monastir, and a charter from Budapest to Djerba.
In Egypt, they offer two weekly flights to Hurghada and one weekly flight to Marsa Alam. In Greece, their summer destinations include Crete, Corfu, Rhodes and Zakynthos, and a new summer destination Lefkada, with Smartwings as their charter partner. Flights, to Palma de Mallorca, Cyprus and Northern Cyprus, also offered for the first time this year, and from Debrecen to Corfu.
