FM Szijjarto meets Colombian, Argentine counterparts
Budapest, June 10 (MTI) – Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto met and held talks with his Colombian and Argentine counterparts in Brussels on Wednesday, the foreign ministry told MTI.
Szijjarto met with Colombian Foreign Minister Maria Angela Holguin Cuellar and his Argentine counterpart, Hector Timerman at the 2015 summit between the EU and the Community of Latin America and Caribbean states (CELAC), the ministry said.
Szijjarto said the aim of the Hungarian government is to ensure that Hungary profits from Latin America’s economic and social development. The minister said Eximbank has opened a 300 million dollar credit line for Hungarian companies doing business in Colombia and a 20 million dollar credit line to help Hungarian businesses in Argentina.
The ministry expressed its support for the free trade agreement between the EU and Colombia and urged the acceleration of free trade talks between the EU and Mercosur. The ministry noted that Budapest will host the second Hungary-Latin America business forum in October.
