Foreign minister holds talks with counterparts from Liechtenstein, Monaco
Budapest, May 18 (MTI) – Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó held talks with his counterparts Aurelia Frick from Liechtenstein and Gilles Tonelli from Monaco in Sofia on Wednesday, the ministry said.
Szijjártó and Frick signed an agreement authorising Hungary’s foreign missions in Moldova, Belarus and China to issue visas on behalf of Liechtenstein. The ministers also agreed to expand an existing industrial cooperation deal to cover high-level financial services. This is enabled by an agreement to prevent double taxation which entered force earlier this year, the ministry said in a statement.
Hungary recently established diplomatic relations with Monaco, and the country’s Paris ambassador is accredited to the principality. Hungary supports the conclusion of talks between Monaco and the European Union as soon as possible, ministry said.
Szijjártó is in Sofia to attend the Council of Europe foreign ministers’ meeting.
