Foreign minister to visit Turkey to prepare Orbán’s trip
Budapest, August 19 (MTI) – Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó will pay a visit to Ankara next Tuesday in preparation for a planned trip to Turkey by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, news portal Origo reported and the foreign ministry has confirmed the information.
Szijjártó will be the first high-ranking European politician to visit Turkey since July’s failed coup, Origo said. From Ankara, Szijjártó will travel to Egypt and meet its prime minister and foreign minister, the portal added.
Beyond making preparations for Orbán’s visit, Szijjártó will meet counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu to discuss bilateral cooperation and a deal between Turkey and the European Union.
