Formula 1: Hungarian Grand Prix ticket and food prices raise eyebrows ahead of 2025 race

Interest in the 2025 Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix remains sky-high as usual, but many fans are stunned by soaring ticket and concession stand prices. This summer’s event at the Hungaroring could become one of the most expensive race weekends in the circuit’s history—not just in ticketing, but also at the food stalls.

Are Hungaroring prices leaving Hungarian fans behind?

Three-day passes have seen a steep increase: the cheapest general admission tickets are now priced around HUF 90,000 (EUR 225), while seats in premium grandstands go for over HUF 300,000 (EUR 750). Fans dreaming of access to the Paddock Club should prepare to spend millions.

Organisers claim that the pricing structure reflects international trends and the prestige of the event. Still, some Hungarian fans feel increasingly priced out of the on-site experience.

According to Blikk, those who do attend in Mogyoród may face sticker shock at the concession stands, too. A slice of pizza goes for HUF 2,500 (EUR 6.25), while a hamburger costs around HUF 4,000 (EUR 10).

Hot dogs are priced at HUF 3,000 (EUR 7.5), and a portion of French fries will set fans back HUF 2,000 (EUR 5). Vezess.hu reports that drinks aren’t any cheaper: a 0.5-litre bottled soda costs HUF 1,000 (EUR 2.5), and beer runs between HUF 1,500 and 2,000 (EUR 3.75 and 4).

Fans divided on the price tags

Reactions among fans are mixed. Some believe that a world-class sporting event naturally comes with higher prices, while others argue that the costs are disproportionate relative to Hungarian wages.

This is especially tough on families and larger groups of friends hoping to soak in the Grand Prix experience. For a family of four, ticket and food expenses alone could climb into the several hundred-thousand-forint range.

Hungaroring management emphasises their commitment to providing a memorable and comfortable experience for everyone, and cite ongoing facility upgrades as a justification for the rising costs. Starting in 2026, the venue is expected to undergo a full infrastructural overhaul, including new grandstands and service amenities.

While rising prices may deter some, the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix remains one of the country’s most popular sporting events, though it remains to be seen how long local enthusiasm will hold out under mounting financial pressure.
