Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix – Comments by top three drivers

Budapest, July 26 (MTI) – Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel claimed victory in the 30th Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix, round 10 of the 2015 FIA Formula One World Championship. Red Bull’s Daniil Kvyat of Russia finished in second ahead of Australian team mate Daniel Ricciardo.

Sebastian Vettel

“Incredible day, but this victory is for Jules. We know it has been an incredibly tough week, and for all of us very difficult, so this one is for him. For all the people within Ferrari, all the Ferrari fans, we knew sooner or later he would have been part of our team, part of this family.” Speaking about the race, he said, “We had a great start, obviously it was crucial to get into the lead straight away. The car was difficult but great to drive, and it has been a great race, we showed great pace, so thanks to the team for the recovery since Friday. Today it just came together, and despite the safety car we still managed to win, so this one is for the team as well.”

Daniil Kvyat

“My first podium in my second season of F1. A tough race. Fantastic to be on the podium. The second place goes to Jules and the family. We lost a great guy and a fantastic person […] My thoughts are with him,” he said. As for the race, he said, “I did my best. We all share this podium. It is great to be here on a circuit where it is a bit of a home race before the Russian Grand Prix. It was always a pleasure to be here even if there have been bad races and good races. And today is a real special day,” he added.

Daniel Ricciardo

“Tough fighting today. The fighting on track was difficult. It was a crazy race. There was contact on the restart with Lewis [Hamilton] and with Nico [Rosberg]. I left it all on the track. I owe that race to Jules. This podium feels like a victory. I gained some strength today […] I drove inspired by Jules. It is emotional. This one is definitely for Jules.”
