In addition to drivers, public transport users can also expect a number of traffic restrictions in the Hungarian capital this summer.
Buda Lower Quay
By the time the school holidays begin, the period of renovations and closures has already started in Budapest. Accordingly, from 20 June to mid-August, the lower quay of Buda will be closed to vehicles. In addition, using public transport will also be complicated in the area. Due to the ongoing reconstruction of the Chain Bridge, the Buda Lower Embankment between Döbrentei Square and Halász Street cannot be used until mid-August. However, vehicles will be able to use the lower quay of Pest every day of the week.
Arriving from Óbuda, drivers cannot go further than Halász Street. From the south, they can drive only until Döbrentei Square. The Centre for Budapest Transport (BKK) would like to notify drivers arriving from Óbuda that due to the limited capacity of the Halász Street driveway, it will not be possible at the Margaret Bridge to get off in the southbound direction to the lower quay.
