Going Cashless at the Hungaroring: Here’s What You Need to Know

Festipay’s system will power cashless payments at all hospitality units throughout the Hungaroring during the Formula 1 Grand Prix, which is expected to draw a full house. Visitors will be able to pay quickly and conveniently at hundreds of terminals. Following a successful debut in Bahrain, Festipay now ensures a smooth customer experience across the entire catering area of Hungary’s F1 track.

Festipay will operate a modern, contactless system during the event. Visitors will be able to pay with bank cards, mobile phones, or Festipay cards, which can be obtained on-site.
“We are proud that Festipay has been chosen as the official cashless payment provider for the Hungarian Grand Prix. We’re preparing hundreds of terminals for the summer race weekend to ensure that visitors enjoy a fast and seamless payment experience—just as we successfully demonstrated at the Bahrain Grand Prix,” said Attila Solti, Board Member of Festipay Zrt.

He added that Festipay is among the first to comply with new legislation on cash usage, in line with the amendments to the 1997 Consumer Protection Act (CLV) and the intention of the lawmakers. Visitors arriving with cash will be able to load their funds onto a special top-up card. Any unused balance can be refunded in cash at the end of the event, free of charge.
