Hungarian government announces development of international airport
Hévíz at Lake Balaton and Tokaj in Northeast Hungary will be the two main tourism development targets in the country.
According to telex.hu, the government will spend lots of money to develop these two regions, Antal Rogán, the head of the Cabinet of the Prime Minister, said in the Hungarian Parliament’s Economy Committee.
The first government decision on the issue appeared on Friday evening. According to that, the Orbán cabinet would restructure the operation of the Hévíz spa and create a new model for the development of the Hévíz-Balaton Airport.
All tourist assets of the Hévíz spa complex (lake, spa, hotel) will be operated by a newly formed company in the ownership of the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ). The government will provide HUF 100 million (EUR 260,000) for the new business.

Mr Rogán will prepare the legal modifications for the airport and the spa’s development. His partner in the work will be his main rival in the Orbán government, Hungary’s transport and construction minister, János Lázár.
