Great Hungarian success at this year’s Oscars of gastronomy

Change language:
Grapoila, a manufacturer of organic oil and seed flour products, was very popular at this year’s Great Taste Awards, and they were not the only Hungarian producers to get star ratings at the prestigious competition.
Great Taste Awards defines itself as “the UK’s largest and most trusted awards scheme for speciality food & drink”. And there is no doubt about that: this year, the jury tasted 12,777 food products from 106 countries over a period of three months.
The Awards, also considered as the ‘Oscars of gastronomy’, was established in 1994 to give recognition to the finest food products from all over the world.
As Sokszínű Vidék writes, the competition is very popular among small manufacturers, “but only a fragment of them get a star rating from the jury”. This is why it is such delightful news that this year, Hungarian manufacturers had a sweeping success at this prestigious contest.
Marianna Pinczés, manager of Grapoila, has every right to be proud of her company’s success:
the manufacture, primarily specialised in organic flour and oil products, nominated six products this year, and each of them received at least one star rating.
