Good news for Formula 1 fans: Here’s the renewed Hungaroring – PHOTOS
The Hungaroring, a staple of Formula 1 racing, is undergoing a remarkable transformation to ensure its place as a world-class circuit for the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix in August.
Hungaroring construction reaches new milestone
As Hungaroring shared in a Facebook post, following the 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix, redevelopment efforts at the Hungaroring have been in full swing, with a workforce of 620 dedicated individuals working daily to upgrade the circuit. Over the past six months, significant progress has been made, including the installation of 23,785 cubic metres of concrete and 7,604 tonnes of reinforcing steel. Large-scale earthworks around the paddock building have been completed, and construction of the third floor’s vertical structure is now underway.
The main grandstand is also advancing, with all precast reinforced concrete beams installed and nearly 50% of the grandstand elements in place. Elsewhere, 759 square metres of masonry structures have been built, and extensive electrical work has seen 22 kilometres of protective tubes and 80 kilometres of lining tubes laid, alongside 20 kilometres of power cables. With the depot area’s high current system finished and low current systems 90% complete, the circuit is on track to welcome the F1 family at its usual high standard.
