VIP for HUF 57-59,000 (EUR 142,82-147,83)

Despite the significant price rise, organisers expect a full house on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Especially on Wednesday, when Dua Lipa will perform. In addition, they warn the audience that if they do not want to miss out they should buy their tickets in advance. They also redesigned the internal traffic of Sziget so that the entry and exit work in the safest possible way during rush hours.

To ensure a private and exclusive experience for those who can allow it, the VIP section awaits guests for HUF 57-59,000 (EUR 142,82-147,83). However, the Wednesday, Friday and Saturday tickets for this price are already sold out. Organisers are offering VIP guests a special lane entry, an expanded main stage stand and new VIP zones.

Green Sziget Festival

According to the organisers, this year’s Sziget will be greener than ever. Along with the ticket, visitors can also buy wood to create a CO2 compensation forest, while the festival, in close cooperation with Coca-Cola, also launches PET bottle collection days. Moreover, they also offer repo food (which has not received very favorable press coverage lately) and degradable tableware.

  1. If someone thinks those are horror prices then they must be very poor. That price range is quite standard for most music festivals in Europe and the UK. Don’t forget that the food and drink stalls have to pay a hefty fee to the organisers to have their pitch at the festival. Considering a 3 day festival pass is 255 euros and a 6 day one is either 355 or 555 euros, a beer for 3.23 euros or a burger for 11.28 euros is peanuts.

  2. Post Modern – concur valid points of explanation.
In times past, when we had a “degree” of normality in our lives, if you attended outside places of entertainment – concerts, sporting & “other” – it was known accepted understood – that you paid “solidly” above, what you did at your local, or your supermarket or “other”.
    Stall holders COST ?
Trust they by Greed & Explotation – not being “screwed” by the organizers ?
Stall holders – in the economic management running of their STALL – are THEY Greediness ?

Those of US – living in the Humongous situation & challenges confronting us individually daily in our lives – and as a country of 9.6 million – in Hungary- at this time, that NO clear “reversing” of a down-ward trending Economic & Financial outlook – is on the Horizon or to be seen – and that we FACE darker days & times ahead.

The “pain” – must be SHARED.

If – Greed or Explotation – it is HAPPENING wide-spread – is “signed off” – agreed by Government and Citizens of Hungary – allowed to run its own course & race – in Hungarys – weak & sickening Economy – it will ADD to the – Parlous position, that factually Hungary is in.

  3. Any festival or such is the same wherever you are. And these prices aren’t even that outrageous compared to some countries. The vendors know they can charge this as people will pay. Certainly as soon as alcohol is on the menu then the prices will increase. And for those who can’t hold their drink it’s a good thing.

  4. Just went to a festival in Switzerland. Entry about the same, drinks approximately double (except for water – tap water for free, bottles the same, cocktails x1.5), food x1.5.

Having said – the locals earn a bit more (which is why there’s quite a few Hungarians working here, facilitated by the EU free movement of people and arrangements with Switzerland). Funny to be standing next to a Hungarian expat in front of an Italian food stand!
