House Speaker marks memorial day of victims of communism
“We must fight anti-identity spiritual terrorism aiming to destabilise the Western democratic order,” House Speaker László Kövér told a conference commemorating the victims of communism on Thursday.
At the conference organised by the House of Terror Museum and the St. Stephen Institute, Kövér said personal identity had become a “prized trophy in the war between states … and private powers which have recently entered world politics.”
“Those private powers have taken strategic aim at destabilising the national, religious and sexual identity of citizens to enable organised immigration disguised as an issue of refugees and to corrupt the political elites”, Kövér said. They also want to have “their own operatives occupying strategic posts for decision making, and play the elites and those they lead against each other,” he said.
In such a situation, protecting the sovereignty and activity of the Hungarian state is of primary importance, he said.
