While the spring hasn’t come yet and everything still looks gray, we need to take action! The least we can do is to make our houses feel extra cozy and welcoming. You need to lay relaxed on those soft white couch covers on your sofa and worry about nothing else but deciding on what show to watch on Netflix next.
Leave cold weather at the door and let the fresh vibes in. Cuddle that fluffy pillow and enjoy your night-in. Take fate into your own hands and make the most of this pre-spring time to refresh your interior! Discover these top-7 ideas on how to make sure every square foot of your house contributes to the cozy aesthetics.Â
Stick with a neutral palette
A cozy oasis should give you a sense of calm so choosing a color palette is vitally important. A neutral color palette is the base of any interior. Layer whites, grays, and creams to add a feeling of comfort yet freshness to the space. By going neutral at the beginning, you create a contemporary background for further decor solutions. Pastel-colored furniture links all interior components into a single ensemble and lets you style the space any way you want to. Enjoy full creative freedom!Â
Refresh your sofa
Give your sofa a new life with a slipcover! A simple color change can bring much-needed spring light to the winter-tired house. The variety of colors and textures lets you experiment with design and make your living space feel especially cozy.
Why is coziness important?
At the end of the working day, you always rush home. You want to finally breathe out and release that tension. That’s why it’s so important to create a cozy harbor that welcomes you as soon as you make the first step inside. When you finally lie on the slipcovered sofa and feel the softness of the fabric, you understand: you’re at home. Instead of expensive furniture, slipcovers can bring comfort and freshness into the house in one move. For those who are tired and bored with their home interior, furniture slipcovers can come in handy too.Â
Add textures
More layers! To add extra coziness and effortless French chic, layer different textures in the living room. Think of lazy Sunday aesthetics: knit blankets, colorful pillows, soft rugs. Throw pillows with embroidery give a welcoming vibe and a patterned rug gives a pleasant feeling when you step on it barefoot. You can even layer two rugs for more texture.
You may also want to experiment and combine slipcovers for pillows and a couch. For instance, go with a blue velvet sofa cover and burgundy pillows. Let your imagination fly high!
Mix & match lighting
Consider using warm-colored light bulbs with a soft glow to design a warm and inviting space. Also, use dimmer switches to adjust the intensity of the light. This will help you with different lighting scenarios for different times of the day and activities such as dreaming about spring on the couch.
Add decorative lighting elements such as string lights, candles, or lanterns to add warmth and character to the room. Pay attention to the placement of the lighting fixtures. Highlight your favorite artwork or a family portrait on the wall to create a sense of depth.
Add floor pillows
Floor pillows add a relaxed and casual feel to your living room. Moreover, they make Arabian night dreams come true. Mysterious Middle East, spicy notes in the air, sunny fruit gardens — all that suddenly feels real.
Floor pillows are versatile and can be easily moved around the room, creating flexible seating arrangements and adding a sense of flow to the space. They are a budget-friendly way to update your living room’s decor without investing in new furniture. They are easy to find, come in various styles, and can be mixed and matched to suit your taste.
Fragrance your room
The right fragrance can evoke positive memories and emotions, creating a more personalized and welcoming setting. It is a simple and affordable way to update the ambiance of your living room. Scents such as vanilla, cinnamon, and lavender have calming and relaxing properties, making them great choices for a cozy living room ambiance. Use scented candles, essential oils, or room sprays to mask kitchen odors and create a more inviting environment.
Play with patterns
Don’t stick to one color palette or style. Play with patterns and pick pieces that belong to one area and to your heart. Also, pay attention to floral prints. If you already feel spring is coming, go with bright and vivid patterns. But in case you’re experiencing post-winter blues, think of warm and muted tones that evoke deeper emotions and motivate self-reflection.
Abstract prints indeed fit any interior and complement an already existing color palette. So if you want to alter the living room look but not change it completely, then go with an abstract.
Create a cozy setting in no time! Apply these ideas to make your living room extra cozy and share the article with friends. Enjoy your refreshed slipcovered couch and remember to pick the right scent for the house.Â
I found it interesting to read that fake, chemical, poisonous scents should be used to masks kitchen fragrances….which are the ones listed. Cinnamon, vanilla being favourites to make a house a home when things come off the stove or out of the oven. Any florals from your gardens. VOCs are so dangerous to babies, children, elderly, amino compromised. Avoid them at all costs…same with many new fabrics which have plastics in them rather than real wool, linen, silks etc. Health should always be considered before phone baloney ideals.
