Detailed plans for Budapest’s huge, new public park presented — PHOTOS, VIDEO

Balázs Fürjes, the Minister of State for Budapest and the Capital’s Metropolitan Area, announced that the comprehensive concept plan for the Csepel Park had been completed.

Csepel to be renewed

Balázs Fürjes, the Minister of State for Budapest and the Capital’s Metropolitan Area, announced on Thursday that the plans had been completed. A huge investment can begin in the Hungarian capital.

A brand-new green park will be established on an area of 36 hectares in North Csepel.

The comprehensive plans will be presented at a joint conference of Portfolio and the Budapest Development Centre. At this conference, Szilárd Németh, Member of Parliament for Csepel, Domonkos Schneller, Deputy State Secretary for the Implementation of the Development of Budapest and the Capital Agglomeration, Dávid Vitézy, the CEO of BFK, and Sándor Mohácsi, the designer of the s73 Landscape Architect Studio, will be present.

In addition, Zoltán Erő, the chief architect of Budapest, will give a lecture, writes magyarepitok.hu.  Balázs Fürjes added that during the planning of the public park in Csepel, they are constantly cooperating with the capital and the local governments concerned.

Huge green investment

According to the entry, the following will characterise the newly-built park:

• presenting a natural park environment: with clearings and large, green rest areas;
• making the Danube shore safe and preserving its close-to-nature character;
• a natural wetland meandering through the park;
• planting more than 1,000 new trees and  creating flower areas in the park;
• opening a community garden and presenting Hungarian pets.

The park will provide relaxation for all ages.

It is planned that a 21st-century smart park with a visitor’s centre, a community space, and Wifi will be opened. Orientation will be aided by a mobile application. A street workout track, senior fitness equipment, a ski park, a climbing wall, an obstacle course, and a running track will all be located in the park area. In addition, a theme park will be created for dogs and a themed playground for children.

It is part of the plans to make the park an important part of Budapest. To this end, it will be accessible from all directions by a variety of means of public transport. The secretary of state closes his Facebook post by stating that the park will be ready by 2025.
