Hungarian 4iG Space and Defence signs MoU with one of the world’s leading satellite operators

4iG Space and Defence Technologies, a member of 4iG Group, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Eutelsat regarding frequency usage rights and orbital positions affecting the performance of the HUSAT programme, the listed IT company said late on Tuesday.
The parties agreed to treat the orbital position and the frequency rights leased by Eutelsat to 4iG Space and Defence and covered by the MoU as confidential. At the same time, 4iG confirmed with the announcement that the MoU contributes significantly to the successful operation of the HUSAT programme.

As part of HUSAT, 4iG plans to launch one geostationary telecommunication satellite (HUGEO) and eight low Earth orbit VHR1 Earth observation satellites (HULEO) by 2032 and operate them during their lifetime. The HULEO constellation will consist of six electro-optical satellites (HUEOP) and two synthetic aperture radar satellites (HUSAR).
4iG said Eutelsat is a leading multi orbit satellite operator. It operates its own satellites with a track record of more than 40 years in operating a fleet of satellites – currently 34 telecommunications satellites in GEO and approximately 600 in LEO – and it manages orbital rights and frequencies in cooperation with international and French regulatory authorities.
