Dive into this Hungarian water park!
AquaCity is the largest water park in Central Europe, covering an area of 7.5 hectares and 6000 m2 of water. Try one of the ten giant water slides or even all of them! Take a dip in the country’s largest wave pool. Swing with or without a swimming mat on the gentle current of the slow-moving river. Test your courage in the diving pool or on the climbing wall. If you wish, relax in one of the jacuzzi pools or cool off in the beach pool.
The park is open from 18 June to 28 August, everyday between 10 AM and 8 PM. For more information on prices, click here.
AquaCity is not just a water paradise for grown-ups. The children’s and baby pools have a variety of fun features, such as a slide, water cannon, water trail and climbing wall. For the smallest ones, there is a splash clown, a mushroom shower, a mini slide and a pink elephant to keep them entertained. A new feature is the water wading pool, which children can try out in the wave pool or in the slow-moving river.
There is no shortage of land-based experiences at AquaCity, says Termálfürdő.hu. Beach sports enthusiasts can enjoy beach volleyball, beach football and an outdoor fitness park. AquaCity has everything you need to make your stay the best day of the summer.
The largest water park in Central-Europe
It is just 20 years since AquaCity first opened its doors in 2002, recalls Mayor Zoltán Balaicz, as Zaol.hu reported from the press conference held at the facility. The mayor adds that the recent opening of the new swimming pool, the training pool, and other facilities, was a celebration of a similar scale. These facilities offer a plethora of leisure opportunities for the people of Zalaegerszeg and visitors, the mayor underscores. He was pleased to announce that – contrary to national trends – the AquaCity will not increase ticket prices this year, visitors can buy tickets at the 2021 prices.
This way everyone, even those in a difficult life situation, can have access to the facility. Among other things, thanks to the low ticket prices, AquaCity had more than 69 000 visitors in 2021, despite the pandemic. This is more than in 2019, and we expect even more people to come this year,”
says the mayor. Before the start of the season, 27 000 000 HUF (67,540 EUR) was spent on improvements to the theme park.
The Hungarian AquaCity continues to offer many programmes this year, for example, the charity family day on 13 August. This event is very popular every year, but there will also be a camp, a retro and a sports day.
