Hungarian art historian receives Legion of Honour!
Judit Geskó, art historian of the Hungarian Museum of Fine Arts, has received France’s Ordre national de la Legion d’honneur for her efforts in further developing French-Hungarian cultural relations.
The highest state order was handed over by Claire Legras, France’s ambassador to Hungary, the museum said on Tuesday.
According to the laudation, Geskó has been active in popularising the history of European painting. Among other areas, she is an expert on Cezanne’s art, and has recently organised a Cezanne exhibition in Budapest.
