Hungarian boutique hotel among the best in Europe for the third time

The Maison Bistro & Hotel has already won Tripadvisor’s Best of the Best award twice. Now, for the third time, this prestigious Hungarian boutique hotel is among Europe’s 25 best holiday accommodations.

Turizmusonline.hu spotted that the Maison Bistro & Hotel is ranked ninth in Tripadvisor’s recently published Travellers’ Choice Awards, ranking Small & Boutique hotels across Europe.

Maison Bistro & Hotel is a unique boutique hotel in the heart of Budapest

The hotel is located in the Buda Castle, near the Fisherman’s Bastion, under 17 Országház Street. The history of the building dates back to the 1400s when it housed a guild and later a bakery. In 1964, it was converted into a restaurant, preserving the Baroque form of the street front. Soon after, it became one of the most popular nightlife venues in Budapest, at the time called the Old Parliament House Restaurant.

In 2016, the former Spiegel House, which belongs to a Hungarian-American owner, opened its emblematic green gates: the Maison Bistro & Hotel was born. The boutique hotel combines the beauty of the historic site and Hungary’s gastronomic past with a sleek and modern design.

“The Maison Bistro & Hotel,” they write on their website, “pays homage to its historic location and gastronomic past through its unique design. The different atmospheres of the rooms and spaces, the graceful furniture, the tiled stoves, the traditional Hungarian dishes, the oven, and the wines offered in the cellar, all contribute to the fresh and cheerful atmosphere of the place.”

Maison Bistro & Hotel received the Tripadvisor Best of the Best award in 2022 and in 2023, as well.

This newest award is the fruit of the “uncompromising, high-quality, professional service and excellent hospitality that our team has been providing our guests for many years. We are delighted to once again enhance the reputation of Budapest and contribute to the recognition of our capital city”, said Attila Viczkó, the hotel’s director.

It is no coincidence that the boutique hotel has received this recognition: tourists are very satisfied with the hotel on all platforms. It is the only four-star hotel in Budapest to have maintained its 9.5-point rating on Booking.com for years. They also have an outstanding 4.9/5 ranking on Google.

Moreover, the Bistro’s cuisine was recently voted one of the top 5 kitchens in Hungary by the guests of Dining City.

Hungarian hotels are gaining a great reputation across Europe

As we reported in April, Tripadvisor rated other Hungarian hotels highly, too. Of its top ten guest-rated hotels in its Travelers’ Choice Awards, 3 were located in Hungary.

Hotel Moments Budapest was ranked 5th, Hotel Vision Budapest 7th, and Hotel Clark Budapest 8th in the list.
