Hungarian champion Katinka Hosszú has a big announcement!
We are all familiar with Hungarian world champion swimmer Katinka Hosszú and her many successes. Read below to find out what Iron Lady has been up to lately!
When the pandemic was at its peak at the beginning of 2020, the production of Hoszzú’s documentary entailing her career suddenly came to a halt. However, as the spread of the virus started to slow down in Hungary, and many restrictions had been lifted, the film was eventually completed. The premiere of Katinka Hosszú’s documentary was on 9 May 2022. Naturally, the swimmer herself attended the press event, reported Blikk.
Titled “Katinka,” the documentary movie was produced by Szupermodern Stúdió (director: Norbert Pálinkás, producer: Tamás Lajos, screenwriter and creative producer: Norbert Köbli), with the support of the National Film Institute. Reportedly, the movie received almost EUR 1.5 million in state subsidy.
As Hosszú herself attended the press event, she shared some tidbits of her personal life.
Other than training for the swimming world championships, where she will attempt to snatch her 100th national medal, she started planning her wedding back in April.
After her breakup with Shane Tusup, Hosszú has found love once again last year and is now in a relationship with swimmer Máté Gelencsér, who owns 40 per cent of Hosszú’s Iron Swim Ltd. The two are planning to host their wedding in the late summer.
Since 2019, the two have formed a bond that even power couples would envy, in which Gelencsér not only supports his significant other’s career but actively helps her in preparing for championships.
