Hungarian Cultural Week commences in Shanghai

Hungarian Cultural Week focusing on Hungarian fairy tales, dances and Hungarian-born architect Laszlo Hudec (Hugyecz) has got under way in Shanghai in the city’s iconic Park Hotel, the Hungarian consulate in Shanghai, which is organising the event, said on Friday.
The venue, the Park Hotel designed by Hudec, was the tallest building in Asia for years after its opening in 1934, the statement said. During the three-day festival, it will host performances by award-winning folk dancers Levente Baka and Nóra Nemes, the Hungarian News Agency wrote.
Other programmes will focus on the works of children’s book authors Veronika Marek and Erika Bartos whose worked have also been published in Chinese, the statement said.
