Hungarian diplomat gets Ukrainian award
Budapest, August 14 (MTI) – Hungary’s consul-general in Uzhhorod (Ungvar) has been granted a Ukranian award for his efforts in helping Transcarpathia’s development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said on Friday.
The award was handed over to Jozsef Bacskai by regional council chairman Volodymyr Chubirko and head of the regional administration Hennadiy Moskal.
The award recognises Bacskai’s work carried out in Transcarpathia’s interest, including the issuance of 45,000 visas, enabling local residents to travel to EU countries. Further, the consulate-general has organised several aid operations in the region, the county council’s press service said.
