Hungarian govt launches info campaign on child protection referendum
The government on Friday said it is launching an information campaign about the national referendum on the child protection law to be held simultaneously with the parliamentary election on April 3.
“It is parents, and not activist groups, who have the exclusive right to give sex education to their children,” the government said on its Facebook page.
Governments in many European countries have taken decisions on the issue of children’s sex education without asking the opinion of the people.
With its information campaign the government wants to ensure Hungarian people the opportunity to express their opinion on the matter,” the government said, encouraging Hungarians to participate in the referendum.
The campaign will run on traditional and online platforms and will soon have a website of its own, it said.

“………..the government wants to ensure Hungarian people the opportunity to express their opinion on the matter,”
The government knows what the majority of the opinion will be as the questions are leading. They are designed for every answer to be negative. They will then announce their ‘told you so’ figure to Brussels of near 100%.
The government will have a lot to explain further down the line as many parents can’t even seem to speak about menstruation to their daughters. A taboo subject. The internet is not always the place to learn as much of it is extreme, but that is where teenagers will turn to, and then comes the name calling/slang words and derogatory terms borne from ignorance. Teachers are not activist groups. For some teenagers who are already struggling with their identity, (and believe me, there will be some) this is about to get a whole lot worse by segregating and ostracising them. You can’t suppress what is already here. Educate in secondary school and not before.
