Hungarian parliament speaker presents state awards in The Hague
The Hague, November 25 (MTI) – The Hungarian parliamentary speaker presented high state awards to two people for their charity work in support of the Hungarian community in the Netherlands and in the Carpathian Basin, in The Hague on Wednesday.
Laszlo Kover handed over the Hungarian Silver Cross of Merit to Gyorgy Kaposvari, an engineer and industrial designer working also as a member of the Stichting Helpende Hulp and Stichting Hulp aan Roemenie charities.
Kaposvari was recognised for his active work for the Hungarian community in the Netherlands and as member of the two Dutch charities that have organised regular shipments of aid to Hungarian communities in Transylvania.
Kover presented the Order of Merit, Knights’ Cross to Leo Elshout for his work in supporting the Hungarian community in the Netherlands and raising and arranging donations for Hungary, Slovakia and the Carpathian Basin over several years.
The ceremony was held at the Hungarian embassy in The Hague as part of the house speaker’s official visit to the Netherlands.
