Hungary Airbnb listings reach 8,000
Budapest, August 10 (MTI) – The number of Hungarian homes listed on online vacation rental site Airbnb has reached 8,000, daily Nepszabadsag said on Monday.
About 3,500 of the homes are in Budapest and a large number are in communities around Lake Balaton, the paper said.
Klara Morvay Karakas, of the catering and tourism faculty at the Budapest Business School, told the paper that rates for Airbnb rooms are about 30pc cheaper than those for comparable conventional commercial accommodations.
