Hungary asks US embassy to take steps over “extremist” American Nepszava news portal
Budapest, February 6 (MTI) – Hungary’s Foreign Ministry has expressed concern to the US embassy over an article which appeared in the American Nepszava online, the daily Magyar Nemzet said today.
The article signed by an anonymous author urges a planned memorial to WWII German occupation in Budapest to be blown up, the paper said.
The ministry said the article conveyed extremist views and incited criminal behaviour, so it has asked the embassy to take steps according to the US legal system against the news portal, which is registered in the United States.
“The same way as we have reported our opinion regarding kuruc.info in the past, we do the same concerning an article in American Nepszava, which has no real influence or readership,” Magyar Nemzet cited the letter to the embassy as saying.
