Hungary EU’s fifth fastest-growing economy
Hungary, together with Poland, is among the fastest-growing economies in the European Union despite not yet having received the post-pandemic recovery monies, the finance minister said on Thursday.
Citing the Central Statistical Office’s recent report on Hungary’s third-quarter GDP growth, Mihály Varga said on Facebook that Hungary was the fifth fastest-growing economy in the EU, with Poland fourth.
Both countries achieved significantly higher growth rates than the EU average of 2.4 percent, according to a graph posted by the minister.
Adjusted for seasonal and calendar year effects, Hungary’s GDP grew by 4.1 percent in the third quarter.
