Hungary is among the TOP 10 destinations for Chinese tourists
Tourism is an essential industry in Hungary. Many tourists come from all over the world. This time, China’s Tongcheng Travel chose Hungary as one of the 10 most popular destinations.
Tongcheng Travel launched a campaign last year to boost the travel industry. Their campaign was titled “Collect the beauty of the world”. As part of the campaign, the ten most popular destinations in the world were compiled.
Hungary is also among the TOP 10 destinations.
The travel promotion campaign provides an opportunity for those wishing to travel to be informed about their destinations on various media platforms. Borders are still closed in most countries, and travel is currently not possible. However, the economic benefits of tourism must not be forgotten. It is necessary to strengthen the mood to travel, writes turizmus.com.
Tongcheng Travel used online statistics from previous years to compile a list of countries. The Hungarian Tourism Agency also joined the campaign to promote the trip, coordinated by Yao Yao, a market expert responsible for China.
The Hungarian Tourism Agency sent visual and textual content about Hungary.
Besides, the Hungarian Tourism Agency tries to promote travel to Hungary among Chinese people through professional education activities. Based on the interest in virtual content, Hungary has become one of the ten most popular destinations. “Although the COVID-19 epidemic has halted the entire outbound tourism market worldwide, many government-related organisations involved in tourism management have made every effort to contribute to the revitalisation of the tourism industry,” wrote Tongcheng Travel in its congratulatory letter.
Hungarian tourism has been growing year by year since 2010. At the same time, the interest of Chinese tourists has also increased. More than 250,000 Chinese guests arrived in Hungary before the coronavirus epidemic. One of the most tourists in our country comes from China. Among the most popular destinations are the country’s capital, Budapest, as well as Lake Balaton and Hévíz. Besides, a significant number of tourists visit Eger, Szeged, Tokaj and Sopron.
After the third wave of the coronavirus and the ever-increasing vaccination rate, tourism could flourish again. In this way, tourists from China and from all over the world can come again to admire the breathtaking sights of Hungary.

A good way to build this revenue source is to ensure that there are always locals who speak some Mandarin and Cantonese to help such tourists and making them feel very welcomed & appreciated. And of course really good American English. They learn it at school, however the older folks may not have great command of anything other than their own mother tounge.
We find that our International students from China frequently are very highly educated, start businesses while here and often want to become permanent residents. Then bring others. On our East Coast, in Prince Edward Island they bought up dying vineyards, grain farms and lovely historical Bed & Breakfasts. And slowly revitalized the shrinking economy there. In my tiny NS they fill our 11 universities & colleges. The tourist him/herself is only one tiny aspect of what China has to offer. They have money, discerning taste and an inclination to see & learn. AND CAN THEY COOK!
