It does not matter when in April it is, because, with Magyar’s campaign managers wasting day after day – his chances to win grow slimmer and slimmer.
If I were Magyar’s campaign manager what would I do?
#1. Fashion a new campaign slogan : ‘Hungary for Hungarians’. That slogan would hang on large glossy Hungarian flags, clumped behind him at every campaign podium, and where there is no podium, Magyar must repeat this slogan, over and over again.
When people ask about that, Magyar will repeat his former anti-corruption pledges and environmental controls, but they will only be mentioned after he outlines the following programs…
A. Not a single immigrant or guest worker, from anywhere in the world, will be allowed into Hungary during his reign – only students and tourists.
B. Talk a vision of agricultural revitalization, exactly as does Toroczkai László.
C. Scream loudly that, under his administration, there will be no gender lunacy, of any sort, in schools.
D. That money will be redirected out of Blackrock-Globalist Budapest to the smalltowns, and that an economy will be reshaped along the lines of what Csoth Magdolna has written.
E. That he promises to never cooperate with Bruxelles, if what they want violates these things.
F. To seize the assets of those corrupt party officials who stole from the Hungarian people.
Send the candidate out every day of every week – to do just as he so successfully did in the Summer of 2024. Only this time, make sure the candidate goes to every small hole in the wall and talks with every last Redneck and Gypsy who wants to talk to him.
This is what I would do, because if he does not start doing this now, he might as well go to the Amalfi Coast in April, because he will not win.
Magyar’s great strength is barnstorming. I followed him every day, in the Summer of 2024 and I was impressed.
His campaign manager§s however, have failed to put him in the right context.
Instead, they continue with the same tactics they used for Marki-Zay. Karácsont Gergély, and Dobrev Klara.
It did not work then, it is not working now.
@mouton – your proposed program runs directly against Hungary’s long term interests. Let me break this position down.
Fact – we have an aging, shrinking workforce. Banning immigrants and guest workers would damage key economic sectors – including agriculture (wonder why your ICE is not in the fields? They could shift thousands!).
Also, our prosperity depends heavily on EU Membership. The Common Market, foreign direct investment and development funds. Hungary nets 3 to 5 percent of GDP WITHOUT the FDI and common market effects, alone!
The EU is not an enemy, it is a forum where Hungary has influence (cue Mr. Orbán’s blackmail strategies). What we need is hard work designing credible regional development, fair taxation, and transparent use of public money. Not constant, vague attacks on “Globalists!” and “Brussels Elites!”. Re Mrs. Csath … other than her point re dependency and stance on corruption, she is an economic protectionist and sovereigntist. I do not see how this helps an open economy like ours – quite the opposite.
On your “gender lunacy” theme. Again, these types of talking points only deepens division and distracts from our real priorities. We need high quality schools, good jobs, and respect for basic rights.
If anything, I should hope that Tisza would focus on rule of law instead of selective asset seizures, targeted rural and small town development instead of slogans, cooperation with the EU instead of permanent confrontation, and a robust system around corruption that applies to all parties, not just political opponents.
Norbert,
I have news for you: A nation is not a corporation. It’s aim is not to generate output, profit, of economical activity.
A nation is a collective of humans, and so is responsible to ensuring the best living standards for all humans, that are part of it. And newsflash, the working class, the ones you want to turn into slaves, are also a part of it.
So what if GDP lower? Literally nothing. Importing immigrants to work for foreign corporations, so that the immigrants bring the wages, and the corporations bring the profits out of the country is literally just allowing foreigners to take advantage of Hungarian infrastructure, and pollute Hungary for free.
What you propose is madness.
The EU is by definition an enemy of Hungary, and can not be otherwise.
The EU tries to turn into a nation. Which literally means, it want’s it’s member state to stop being nations.
That means by definition it is an existential threat to Hungary.
And if you think Hungarian would be better of as EU citizens rather the Hungarian citizens, I have news for you: The Habsburg Empire tried the same experiment. The Sovijets also tried the same. And both met the same end the EU will:
Hungarians will tear it down.
Dawn of a NEW beginning – of HOPR, of a FUTURE.
Rising from the abyss of a “new” dark age taken to such wideness internally and externally, the loss of respect and trust in the name Hungary, by Victor Mihaly. Orban and his Fidesz Government, his “inner sanctum” the Oligarchy – the dawn of a new age a FUTURE the date 12th April 2026 for Hungary, the DOWNFALL of Victor Mihaly. Orban he along with the political party Fidesz must be “in-gloriously” dumped, rejected, voted out of POWER by the people of Hungary, thrown out of office – as the Government of Hungary.
Victor Mihaly. Orban his Fidesz Government have DELIVERED our country that represents devastation not just economically or financially which is the factual position as a country we occupy, but in the CORE of our country the name being disgraced, humiliated abused by Orban & Fidesz we the people of Hungary in our millions being EXPLOITED used – the new dawn of hope of a FUTURE must commence for Hungary post 12th April 2026.
Victor Mihaly. Orban – the Fidesz Government have Nothing, absolutely NOTHING, nothing to add nor contribute to the FUTURE of Hungary – Nothing.
Freedom, Liberty – of FREE voice under DEMOCRACY.
Democracy is Dialogue.
Freedom of Press of the Judiciary not by a Government ruling throwing its weight “in our faces” by Ruling by Decree.
Hungary governed under and by a Government – that firstly governs in its decision making placing individually each and every Hungarian then secondly – in its decision making – what’s best for Hungary.
Hungary must FREE it-self from being under a dictatorial leadership “tyrant” named Victor Mihaly. Orban and the “toxic in culture” Fidesz Government he has been in Prime Ministership over (2) two periods of near (20) twenty years.
Knowing witnessing being in Europe & Globally acknowledged Victor Mihaly. Orban – as the “Judas” of Democracy – his driving and delivering Hungary into of friendships & relationships with Putin’s Russia his favour of communist dictatorship government, like being exhibited and seen by his “friend” – D. J. Trump of the United States of America, a Presidency in CHAOS.
Hero’s Square – 16th June 1989 he FRONTED Hungarians, stood “front & center” on the podium erected “spelled off ” in the faces in thousands of Hungarians present standing and sitting befront of him, in broadcast communication TV & Radio – his “moth” his “fabricated” veiled words not of TRUTH – his words spoken the width and breath of Hungary, out and over all across Europe out into the Global World.
Victor Mihaly. Orban – “pontificating” in somewhat of a Demigod “sermon” – a new era, of hope awaits us Hungary our NEW future must be under DEMOCRACY.
Hungary – we have been FAILED.
Victor Mihaly. Orban – has Betrayed us individually Hungarians in millions, and our country Hungary.
Though it is true that Hungary has it1s share of detractors, particularly in the EU parliament and Bruxelles, Liberal Hungarian ex-patriots in England and my country, and, of course, in Budapest, these sorts are far far outnumbered by those who have the very opposite view.
Yes, in the U.S. Orbán Viktor is the most popular of all foreign politicians, and it is not even close.
As to the ‘dawn of a new beginning’ : if it is the dawn of anything, it is the dawn of a re-emergent nationalism – NOT more self-destructive Liberal-Globalism of the previous 75 years.
In your desire to be somewhere else, you have failed to note that a growing majority of Westerners do not wish to accompany you there.
As to your notion that your prime minister has utterly betrayed your country, y’all are soon to hold a referendum on that.
If he, Orbán Viktor, wins again, a 5th time, then it will be clear that your assertion is, at best, a very controversial one.
And @mouton – if our Politicians lose, a peaceful and unremarkable transfer of power? As opposed to the January 6 insurrection?
Yes, because Hungary doesn’t have a politically partisan CIA equivalent, so the Jan6 FEDsurrection can not happen. (As there are no federal agents to start it.)
But why would you hope that a Fidesz oligarch regime-changes Fidesz?
You’d still get the same oligarchical rule, just from a violent, arrogant traitor.
Oh, did you imagine, that the person, who betrayed his WIFE will stay loyal to YOU?! Oh boy… I have an island full of bridges to sell you.
@Márk – so you are now pulling Mr. Trump, a man thrice-married, who bragged about grabbing women ‘by the p*ssy’ and heroic friend / potential benefactor of our Leader, into the discussion? Weird.
Oh my, why change the subject so fast? Could it be, that you can’t respond? Just so you understand, your response IS an admission. 😉
Looking at my name alone should tell you, that I’m Hungarian. I can not vote for a US president. Duh.
I’m not talking “having affairs”. I’m talking “deliberatly sacrificing your wife for political gain”. That should make it perfectly clear, who I’m talking about.
And having a crude asshole to watch is certainly preferable to the stuck up, arrogant, boring and worst of all hypocritical “liberals” (why can’t they just admit they are communists?! It’s ok. We all know it. Why lie?).
I am an engineer after all. So I can’t mince words, or people will die as a result. If something’s shit, I like it called shit, and not suboptimal. And I hate people thinking they are superior, because of intellectual reasons, who can’t even do math (meaning differential equasions, bacause that’s where math starts). I also hate people, who think bragging about sleeping with whoever you want is “oh no my sensibilities, where’s my safe space?”.
So it should be obvious to you, that I think Orbán’s greates flaw with the EU is, how much of a pussy he is. He should’ve laid down the law. We are a nation, and they are nothing. And how Trump’s no nonsense talk is appealing. And how Magyar’s dishonorable acts are unfogivable.
