Hungary PPI up 8.4 pc yr/yr in July
Industrial producer prices rose by 8.4 percent in July from the same month a year earlier, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Friday.
Prices for domestic sales were up 8.5 percent while export prices rose by 8.4 percent.
In a month-on-month comparison, industrial producer prices were up 0.2 percent as domestic prices edged up 0.1 percent and export prices by 0.2 percent.
Year-on-year, factory gate prices in the manufacturing sector rose by 8.1 percent in July. Prices of transport equipment were up 10 percent, and prices of computer, electronic and optical products were up 4.1 percent. Food, beverages and tobacco prices were up 2.5 percent.
Prices in the gas, electricity and steam supply segment rose by 9.8 percent.
In a month-on-month comparison, producer prices in the manufacturing sector were up 0.4 percent. Prices of transport equipment rose by 0.6 percent, and prices of computer, electronic and optical products went up by 0.5 percent. Prices in the food, beverages and tobacco segment rose by 0.3 percent. Prices of gas, electricity and steam supply were down 0.8 percent.
In January-July 2018, industrial producer prices rose by 4.9 percent year-on-year as domestic prices climbed 5 percent and export prices were up 4.9 percent.
