Hungary records its highest daily death toll from COVID-19

Change language:
Twenty-eight Covid-19 patients have died in the past 24 hours, while the number of registered coronavirus infections in Hungary has risen by 1,025 to 39,862, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Tuesday.
The number of fatalities stands at 996, and 11,753 people have made a recovery.
There are 27,113 active infections and 1,519 Covid-19 patients are being treated in hospital, 160 on ventilators.
Altogether 21,990 people are in official home quarantine and 841,220 tests have been carried out.
The website warned Hungarians to observe social distancing guidelines and hygiene regulations. It asked elderly people to pay increased attention to protecting themselves and observe general regulations.
Entry restrictions for travellers from abroad remain in force.
In addition to shops and public transport, wearing a mask is now mandatory in cinemas, theatres, health and social institutions and public offices, and clubs have to close by 11pm to curb the spread of the virus.

Hungary’s figures are very very high. When you think that, as the Health authorities ( i.e. the government ) openly admitted, they can not perform more than 70,000 tests a week ( which is what many countries do in a day or in half a day … and this alone proves how backward and undeveloped Hungary’s health care system is ) that means that well over 10 % of those tested is covid positive; this means the actual figures are many times higher than the reported ones.
P.s. not to speak of the number of deaths, which is roughly equal to that of countries which record four or five times the number of positives Hungary declares. So, basicly: few tests, many positives, high death rate.
This looks very disturbing.
Budapest, the (23) districts each with there own municipal governments, and representing combined near on 48% per cent of the total number of Hungarian active cases of this novel coronavirus, is alarming.
Mario, comments contain solidness in his explanation and examples.
Readers know my unequivocal position and that AGAIN, if we know the – HOT Spot – Districts – and we do have ALL that Medically Prepared Statistical Information, un-dated daily, stricter measures and increased movement of human policing, should be immediately implemented into these districts, they being the – Hot Spots.
I do not advocate the shutting down of Districts, but tighten, increase testing, and monitor closer, the present lifestyle and movement patterns of the citizens that reside in the Hot Spot districts.
It would require additional changes to life style but not to the severity of closing districts down.
Authorities must get into the HOT Spot – Districts – in greater numbers, and introduce measures in our efforts to lessen the rampant spread of this deadly virus, that Challenges us ALL.
Stay Safe & Well – ALL.
