Hungary signs WHO agreement on health development
Budapest, March 18 (MTI) – Hungary’s Ministry of Human Resources signed a cooperation agreement with the regional office of the World Health Organisation (WHO) on disease prevention and health promotion, the state secretariat in charge of health said on Friday.
The agreement includes programmes in 2016-2017 for the prevention and treatment of contagious and non-contagious diseases, for promoting health across the life span for developing health-care systems, the secretariat said in a statement. Priority has been assigned to fulfilling global and regional needs as well as to programmes catering to Hungary’s health-care system with categories of the EU’s Health 2020 strategy in mind.
The agreement will play a major role in strengthening strategies for public health in Hungary and WHO will also share Hungarian best practices with other member states, the statement added.
