Hungary squad ready in the Faroe Islands

According to MLSZ.hu, the Hungary national squad arrived in the Faroe Islands yesterday evening ahead of tomorrow’s first match of their 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign. The day started with a morning training session and then lunch at the national team’s permanent training base in Telki before a 15:00 departure from Budapest’s Ferenc Liszt airport, a journey which lasted three hours.

Head coach Bernd Storck commented at a short door-step press conference before departure that it is now time to move on from the success of this summer’s European Championship.

“The Euro is already behind us and we must close this chapter now. Now a new campaign starts where everything starts from zero. Of course the experience of the Euro and the positive memories can be useful as we start this new and even more difficult task. I hope we receive the trust from fans and everyone which we also received in France. We’re ready for this opener which will certainly not be easy. Naturally I have an idea in my head of the starting team for Tuesday but it’s too early to talk about it now”.

The temperature in the Faroes is around 10 degrees celsius with foggy, rainy weather expected. The squad is fully fit and will train today in the stadium in Torshavn where the match will be played.
