Hungary supports Kosovo Euro-Atlantic integration, says house speaker
Budapest, November 3 (MTI) – Hungary supports the Euro-Atlantic integration of Kosovo and its admission into international institutions, House Speaker László Kövér said after meeting Kadri Veseli, his Kosovar counterpart, in Budapest on Thursday.
As an independent state forming part of the western Balkans, Kosovo is an important strategic partner for Hungary, Kövér told a press conference.
Hungary also supports liberalising visa regimes for Kosovar nationals, he said.
Kövér praised excellent bilateral relations and a recent upswing in two-way trade. He said that Hungary would grant scholarship to 50 Kosovar students attending a Hungarian university or college.
Veseli expressed thanks for Hungary’s support and reaffirmed his country’s political and economic commitment towards Euro-Atlantic integration.
