Hungary’s retail sales grow 6.3 pc in September
Retail sales in Hungary grew by an annual 6.3 percent in September, accelerating from a 5.3 percent rate of increase in August, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Wednesday.
Calendar-adjusted data show retail sales were up 5.8 percent year on year in September.
Adjusted food sales were up 3 percent, non-food sales grew by 8.6 percent, while vehicle fuel sales were up 6.1 percent.
In the non-food segment, adjusted retail sales of non-specialised stores rose by 12 percent.
In absolute terms, retail sales were worth 1,025 billion forints in September.
In January-September, retail sales rose by 5.8 percent, according to both unadjusted and calendar year-adjusted data. Adjusted food sales rose by 3.2 percent, non-food sales by 8.7 percent and fuel sales by 6.9 percent.
