It was very hot in Budapest: scientists shocked
Budapest recorded its hottest day on Friday since records began, the National Meteorological Service said on Saturday.
The mercury dropped to only 17.3 C. at dawn on Friday at János Hill, while the previous high was 16.4 C., recorded in 1966.
The maximum temperature of 26.9 C. measured on Friday was recorded in Pestszentlőrinc and Újpest, hotter than 26.4 C. witnessed in central Budapest in 2014, the meteorological service said on its website.
