Lost treasures to be recovered from Budapest’s iconic Lake City Park!
On Monday, the City Park Ice Rink and Boating Lake announced on its Facebook page that they have started to drain the lake. This means that the many people who have recently dropped something they love into the lake may now get it back.
The Lake City Park (Városligeti-tó) offers a great programme of activities for visitors both in winter and summer. In summer, however, even one careless move can cause your most precious possessions to fall into the water.
This problem was also encountered by the staff of the site, which they reported on their social media page, Index writes. Anyone who remembers dropping their phone or other valuables in the lake should contact them on the phone number provided.
They added that it is important that the owner has some proof that they are the owner of the item, especially in the case of mobile phones.
According to a commenter, his iPhone 14 Plus device was recovered from the bottom of the lake. “It was under water for 2 weeks, it’s incredible that it’s fine! Thanks again for fishing it out!” he wrote.
Another commenter joked, “I dropped a keychain, but can I have an iPhone instead?”
A woman wrote about losing her earring there, while another wrote about a white toy police car that her son dropped into the lake.
