Malaysians in Hungary celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri – PHOTO GALLERY

The Embassy of Malaysia in Budapest hosted a Hari Raya Aidilfitri “Open House” on 27th April 2024 at the Embassy’s garden compound. Around 200 Malaysians, foreign representations and local invitees attended the event. The event witnessed Malaysians residing in Hungary, Slovenia and North Macedonia from all background and walks of life coming together to celebrate in the spirit of unity, a reflection of Malaysia’s strong multiethnic harmony. Hari Raya is a celebration of unity and harmony for Malaysians and is truly a festival that reflects the beauty and diversity of Malaysia.

While Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a celebration observed with gratitude and joy by Malaysians of Muslim faith, at the same time it is also customary that such joyous celebration is shared with other multi-ethnic and multi-religious people of Malaysia, much like the atmosphere during religious and cultural festivals of Chinese New Year, Christmas, Deepavali and the Harvest Festival of Sabah and Sarawak.

His Excellency the Malaysian Ambassador, Francisco Munis, in his message expressed his delight that the celebration has indeed strengthen the bond not only between Malaysians in Hungary but also between Malaysians and local Hungarians, signifying people to people interaction and cultural understanding. It is a blessing for Malaysia and Malaysians that they can celebrate together in harmony not only in Malaysia but also abroad, added the Ambassador.
