Hungarian MÁV launches direct trains to Western Ukrainian cities

Hungarian railway company MÁV will operate direct services to Berehove (Beregszász) and Uzhhorod (Ungvár) in Ukraine’s Transcarpathia region starting on Friday, the company said in a statement.
Tisza EuroCity trains will ensure access to Uzhhorod from Vienna and Budapest, while Berehove could be reached by train from Záhony border station, MÁV said.
The development has been facilitated through a cooperation of the railways of Austria, Hungary, and Ukraine, as well as a refurbishment of Ukraine’s railway system, under which the area on the other side of the Hungarian border was linked to the European network through changing the track gauge, the statement said.
Tickets for the new services are available at box offices, while online sales will start in the second half of September, the company said.

I understand they didn’t ‘change’ the track gauge, they embedded a standard gauge track within the existing broad gauge. Also, it’s a ‘ticket office’ for a train, box offices only pertain to entertainment venues.
