Many people love spending time in museums, seeing paintings, exhibitions, sculptures, or enjoying finding out more about history and science. Other people’s definition of fun or spending their free time might be different. But there is no need to worry because a new museum in Budapest makes sure that every guest has the best of both worlds.
The Museum of Illusions opened in Budapest on 1 December 2021. Their address is 3 Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Street. The museum offers an interesting visual experience with a lot of illusions to discover.
Forbes writes that the idea of the museum is not new. Two Croatian architects, Roko Živković and Tomislav Pamuković, came up with the concept in 2015. The first museum was opened in Zagreb in June 2015, and the Museum of Illusions became a franchise in just 6 years.
There are currently 36 units in 21 countries. The goal is to have 100 museums of the franchise within the next 5 years. In 2022, the franchise will possibly open museums in Valencia, Philadelphia, Washington, Dublin, Montréal or Marseille.
The Budapest Museum of Illusions takes up 500 square metres with very interesting rooms, making it one of the largest museums of its kind in the region.
The museum has an intelligent playroom where “visitors of all ages can play, compete, and learn. The playroom stimulates learning and fun with Dilemma games, wooden puzzles and games which stimulate cognitive abilities.” There are many rooms to explore and take pictures in.
