Budapest, July 27 (MTI) – Targeted audits by Hungary’s National Tax and Customs Office (NAV) uncovered 383 billion forints (EUR 1.2bn) in unpaid taxes in the first half of the year, 12 percent more than in the same period a year earlier, deputy state secretary for tax affairs Csilla Czinege said at a press conference on Wednesday.
The number of audits fell by 11 percent to 17,600 during the period, showing improved efficiency, Czinege said.
