New airline comes with very cheap prices to Budapest
We wrote about Romanian Dan Air before, but further details emerged about when and for what price they will start to serve passengers travelling from or to Budapest.
Transtelex.ro wrote that Dan Air would offer tickets to Barcelona for the highest price, while Budapest would be their cheapest destination. The new Romanian airline’s ticket prices were allegedly acquired by a local Romanian news outlet, BizBraÈ™ov.
Before, Transtelex wrote that the airline did not even have a contract with the Brasov international airport, which would serve as its base. However, the new airport built in Ghimbav (Vidombák), near the Transylvanian metropolis, will start operation only on 15 June. That is when Dan Air plans to begin service, and they said they would like to first agree with the airports of their destinations (including Budapest). Afterwards, they will sign the relevant contracts with the Brasov airport.
The Romanian media outlet wrote that Dan Air did not have an official website the day before yesterday. However, BizBrașov said they would use the following prices on their planned routes:
- Brasov – Barcelona – Brasov (each Tuesday) – EUR 99
- Brasov – Brüsszel – Brasov (each Wednesday) – EUR 89
- Brasov – Budapest – Brasov (each Tuesday and Sunday) – EUR 39
- Brasov – London – Brasov (each Friday)– EUR 79
- Brasov – Milan – Brasov (each Monday) – EUR 72
- Brasov – Munich – Brasov (each Saturday) – EUR 79
- Brasov – Nürenberg – Brasov (each Thursday) – EUR 79
- Brasov – Stuttgart – Brasov (each Thursday) – EUR 69
As we wrote, Dan Air was founded by a pilot, Dan Iuhas, in 2017. Earlier, its name was Just Us Air. Wab Aero Services is behind the company with an administrator called Matt Ian David. They own three Airbus A320s and an Airbus A330. Furthermore, they have an Airbus A319, which is currently used by Air Serbia, which also started service to Budapest.
Budflyer wrote that Dan Air launched its website yesterday, and we can book flights to Budapest from Brasov and Bucharest now. They will start service from the Romanian capital on 4 June, the anniversary of the Trianon Peace Treaty. They will fly once a week, on Sundays. Meanwhile, they will take off twice a week from Brasov, on Tuesday and Sunday.
They will serve their passengers with Airbus A320s having 174 seats. Here is a photo of the aircraft:
The Facebook page confirmed the above-written prices. But they are valid only for an Economy class ride. But you can buy business class tickets, too. However, they are much more expensive, EUR 299. They have competitors only from Bucharest, Tarom, the Romanian national airline and Air Connect. The travel time between Bucharest and Budapest, Brasov and Budapest will be only 1 hour and 25 minutes. By car, it takes almost a day to reach Bucharest from Budapest.
