New developments at Budapest Airport increase service level

New children’s play area was inaugurated lately in Pier 1 and the MasterCard Lounge has also reopened. Below you may check out the details and some photos. Who said ever that Hungary’s main air gate, the Ferenc Liszt International Airport does not develop?

New children’s play area at Budapest Airport

It is no exaggeration to say that the children’s play area inaugurated in February at Pier 1 of the airport is second to none. At the playground, children can enter a mini airport, where they can control air traffic themselves; they can board an aircraft and take over the runway, a miniature replica of runway I at Budapest Airport. The play area offers a safe and joyful wait for the little ones, so that their holiday experience can start at the airport.

This is not the first in a series of family-friendly developments at Budapest Airport. The facility has four nursing rooms equipped with armchairs, baby changing facilities and microwave ovens, and 12 free strollers for young children. Two more play areas in addition to the newly opened one are located in the transit area of Terminal 2, both of which will undergo refurbishment over the coming period.

Waiting time now available on Budapest Airport’s website

Since February, passengers can check on Budapest Airport’s website how long it will take them to get through security screening when they arrive at the terminal. Since last year, monitors showing the exact waiting time have been displaying this information at the terminal, but now, passengers can also check before they arrive at the airport how much time they can expect to have before boarding. With this development, Budapest Airport is helping to make the time spent at the airport even more stress-free and predictable, thanks to smoother passenger flows than ever before. Waiting times are now less than five minutes on average, thanks to the new displaying of queuing times and the recent modernization of security screening, but did not exceed 13 minutes even during the summer peak last year.
